After Ivan, Dean, Sandy, Irma, Maria and Melissa, the question is the same: how do communities get ready, and how do they recover faster? I build risk profiles, readiness tools and knowledge networks with the Caribbean Development Bank, IDRC and UK research councils, and evaluate emergency responses.
Delivery profile
Community readiness tool and risk profiles for CDB's disaster risk fund in three countries
Caribbean Resilience and Recovery Knowledge Network across Dominica, Montserrat and Grenada
TOPIM cyclone intensity model with Maynooth University and Irish Aid

Projects
Co-Investigator
Tropical Cyclone Ocean-Coupled Potential Intensity Model for the West Indies
Irish Aid, Our Shared Ocean Programme
A cyclone intensity model that accounts for ocean heat to give better estimates of extreme wind, surge and waves. I also redesigned the technical cooperation abstract for a follow-on IDB operation, which is still being finalised.
