Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation Specialist - Conducted Rapid Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment for selected communities under The Community Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) Fund. The Fund finances projects which reduce the risks of natural disasters and support climate change adaptation efforts in communities across the Caribbean.
The Community Disaster Risk Reduction Trust Fund (CDRRF) is a multi-donor trust fund established by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) with resources being provided by the Government of Canada acting through its Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), now Global Affairs Canada and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island acting through its Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Union (EU). The main objective of this project was to conduct Rapid Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments for CDRRF sub-projects that are under implementation in Jamaica, Belize, British Virgin Island and St Vincent & the Grenadines. The RCCVA is used to review the vulnerabilities, assess whether the project under implementation will and/or has addressed the key DRR and climate change issues in the sub-project communities and relate key lessons learnt in relation to both projects. The assignment also includes the preparation of an article, for publication, on the findings of the application of the RCCVA to both projects and lessons learned from the field.
