The work commissioned under this project is related to Component 1 of the Adaptation Programme and Financing Mechanism (AP&FM) for the Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience (PPCR), Jamaica. The AP&FM is a five-year (2015 – 2019), US$19.9M initiative that aims to improve the country’s resilience to climate change. Approved in December 2014 and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through the PPCR (~$17.9M USD) and the Government of Jamaica (~$2M USD), the AP&FM consists of three core components: Component 1 - Mainstreaming climate change measures; Component 2 - Creation of financial mechanisms; Component 3: Knowledge Management. This baseline assessment serves Component 1, which seeks to implement adaptation measures in a vulnerable watershed and evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed activities in creating climate resilience.
